Adriatic Croatia International (ACI) Club has the largest chain of Marinas not only in Croatia, but in the Mediterranean, ACI Club was founded in 1983.

There are in total 21 marinas spanning the entire Adriatic, from Umag in the north to Dubrovnik in the south, ACI has a marina handy wherever you plan on going along the Croatian coastline.  All of the ACI marinas are modern and well equipped,  Some of the facilities they offer are:

On entering Croatian waters the skipper must report to the closest international border control, permanent border crossing are: Dubrovnik, Korcula, Mali Losinj, Ploce, Porec, Rasa (Brsica), Rijeka, Rovinj, Sibenik, Split, Ubli, Umag, Vela Luka and Zadar. 

Seasonal border crossings between April and November operate at the following locations: ACI Marina Umag, Bozava, Cavtat, Hvar, Komiza, Novigrad, Primosten, Sali, Stari Grad (Hvar) and Vis.

At the border crossing the skipper must purchase a vignette and produce the following: a crew list, third party insurance policy and ownership certificate or use authorizations from the owner.

Boats under 2.5M or engine power is less than 5KW, the vignette is optional.

Can't find a ACI marina in your location, try a private marina.

Many private Marinas are scattered along the Croatian Adriatic sea, the largest Croatian marina is "Marina Dalmacija", it is not only a private marina but has also been awarded the prestigious "Blue Flag" award. Most private marinas are well equipped and provide equivalent facilities to the larger chain ACI Club marinas. All Private Marinas are listed below including all of the important information.

Croatia has an extensive train network covering most of the country, there is one popular tourist destination: Dubrovnik which can not be reached by train, the furthest south train station connect to the Croatian rail network is Split, Ploce is further south station bus is connected to the Bosnian train network.

Travel by train is not necessarily the quickest option, but is the cheapest and it will enable you to see stress free some of Croatia's beautiful country side. 

Zagreb to Split travel times comparison: 8.5 hours by Train, 3-4 hours by Bus, 45 Minutes by airplane.

Croatian railways have purchased six ultra modern tilting trains which can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h, this will reduce the travel time to 4.5-5 hours, Its is anticipated that vital track works will be completed 2005 and that services will begin later in the year.

Croatian Railways offers various pricing discounts for example, seniors, groups, children, Disabled, Students, Minders etc.  Costs can be reduced even more if you catch a normal train and also depending on the travel time.

There are direct connections between Croatia and many other European destinations for example: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Hungary and Italy. All other countries can be reached via indirect lines.

Renting

If you need a car for a short period of time and the convenience of being able to pick up and drop off the car locally while traveling around Croatia.  Rental is charged by day or week, mileage limits normally apply.
